The games and the graphics get bigger and better, but nothing can quite catch the atmosphere of the original Tomb Raider!
The backgrounds may not be as realistic, but the gameplay is suitably tense and the breathtaking imagery makes for a superb experience.
Lara looks a little dated and chunky by today's standards, but this is still the Tomb Raider I think of when I hear Lara mentioned.
For those of you who, like me, played this as one of your very first PlayStation games, then you will never quite forget the experience of this tantalizing and tough heroine battling all kinds of evil, from rats to mummies.
Fortunately for the newbie, Lara's pistols have unlimited ammo, and you collect bigger and better weapons as you play the game...you will need them! Especially when you come face to face with the particularly scary (and huge!) enemy in the Valley!
If you are new to the Tomb Raider phenomenon and have no idea what all the fuss is about, then play this game! It might not be the realistically animated fun you are used to, but I guarantee that once you play this game, you will be hooked.
Get yourself onto eBay and buy it today...you won't be sorry!
Nothing after this will ever come quite as close, and you will find yourself comparing all the following TR games with this one. They are good...but this is the best!
